A van with 2-5 passengers, and a motorcycle with one rider ride up from San Francisco, through Calgary, head up into Alaska, and explore the area.

While there are start and end points, and there aren't particularly many route options to take, we will be pacing the trip as we go -- each day, we can decide how far, if at all, we want to drive the following day. Daytimes will be spent driving, exploring parks and cities, and generally enjoying the scenery. Nighttimes will be spent cooking, and camping, and enjoying the outdoors.

The overall trip will be in the ballpark of 5500 miles, 19-20 days. There will be a lot of driving, and if given an option, the preference will be to take the longer, less traveled, more scenic route, even if that means traveling long distances along unpaved roads.
