When you come to Charleston, check out www.boonehallplanation.com. The mini SEries "North and South " was filmed here. There is also a well preserved Civil War fortification line "up in the woods". There is a historical marker out by Highway 17.

If you are a Civil war buff, dont overlook Fort Moultrie on Sulivans Island. People tend to go to Fort Sumter, which is good, but there is not a whole lot to SEE out there, other than a great view of the harbor. Fort Moultrie has a small but good museum, and the fort is well-preserved.
