Kristina's 1 Year to See the Mainland -Bangkok to London Overland
A trip from July 05, 2009 to May 25, 2010, travelling to Atlanta, Nadi, Auckland, Sydney, Darwin …
I have always wanted to do it and now I am really getting … More
I have always wanted to do it and now I am really getting underway. This is a mostly overland trip with a bit of a jump over Iran/Middle East. There are a couple of flights in Asia but mostly try to get around on my own.
I want to have a go at Australia while the currency exchange stinks for them. I would love to go to all those lovely places that I haven't before, Uluru, Kakapo, Adelaide, Cairns, whatever is convenient. Probably 3-4 weeks here. I will most likely have a flight from Auckland to Sydney, then from Sydney to Bangkok.
I figured out that i can buy a country train pass and go to the Alice, Adelaide, Melbourne, Darwin and Perth for only 590AUD which is a couple of night accommodation too (granted in a reclining seat). I plan on going to Kakadu for sure.
Gotta get here in September atleast, rainy season ends now. Spend some time in Thailand with the Thai folks that I have met. Possibly visit Cambodia and Laos. Spend about 6 weeks in the area.
I would love to go on the Annapurna Trek but any trek will do - right now we are going for thirty days of walking in the himalayas - which is so awesome. Spend about 3-4weeks here. The flight is from Bangkok to Kathmandu. You can supposedly take an elephant ride down into Delhi. This is preferable to a flight of 500-600 dollars.
I want to spend about three months in India, doing whatever. I found that there is an organization that will get people up to volunteer for free around the area - this is of course much preferable to paying thousands of dollars. So after Alix leaves or before it is definitely an option.
I really would love to go here, but getting a visa as an American may be really hard. I may also need to wait until it is more spring to get here. I want to travel through the Mediterranean not sure which way. Emay will hopefully join me here.
Wow, K-Diggity. Sounds AMAZING. Maybe I'm gonna jump on board next Sept for some of your Thailand/Viet Nam/Cambodia action... assuming i find a way to make money and slip away for another month. keep me posted on your plans. Sounds like so much fun!
that sounds awesome, sign me up around fall also. This is a great trip planning thing! I really want to go to China and all the Europe places and India realy... well everywhere. But China and Europe for sure. Maybe i can take time off to meet you in asia and then quit to go to europe for a couple monthes. You rock I LOVE YOU!
i am so jealous!! sounds great! i will definitely be in india again this December 2009 - most likely N. Delhi, Pune and Goa. Let's plan closer to the date. And will be in NY in May of next year unless I get laid off...
Yay! you are finally coming to India! Chris and I were there for the last couple of weeks and he loved it :)
Hi Kris, we did the Jomson Trek which is the bottom half of the Annapurna Curcuit. Nick did the whole Annapurna C last year with Justin Bobbyn, they loved it. I would LOVE to go back and do it again, the whole thing but I think it would take me (at my age) at least a month and I can't take this time off work yet. Soon, hopefully before I get too old to trek!! Lovewendy
