By far the best part of the trip was driving through Pebble Beach on the "17 mile drive" then stopping at Carmel Beach, one of the top 10 beaches in the world and experiencing the ruggedness of Big Sur.

My only wish is that I had taken more time to experience the whole trip. While I did manage to do most of what I set out to do. There was very little time to "enjoy" the scenery before I had to be on the road again. If I had to do it over again I would take about a week to do the while trip. That would give me more time to add things like The Hearst Castle in San Simeon and spend more time at every place I visited.
