I lived in Monterey for a year. Absolutely a magical place. It is true that for a modern city, it is full of history. I loved how the city maintains the historical buildings. New buildings are built with the architecture of the past in mind. Unfortunately, even though I make a good salary...it is just too expensive to live there. It was like a long, extrodinary vacation that had to come to an end. I moved back to Redding, Ca. No complaints though, this is a beautiful place too.
