Wild West Adventure '08

Stopped in Salt Lake for a tour of the Mormon Tabernacle and downtown. Nice dinner out and then back on the road. Was fun to watch all the fireworks along the way to Idaho.

Arrived very late but enjoyed the pyrotechnics. Staying a a brand new Double Tree. Very clean and includes breakfast.

This is the best vacation I've ever had! The ranch was not just fun, but everyone was so nice, the food was great and there was lots to do ontop of horseback riding. We've already booked a return trip for 2010.

A booming silver mine town in the 20's now a true ghost town. Most of the buildings are in complete ruin. The old mine is barracaded to prevent looky-loos and potential accidents. Can't imagine what it was like to live here so long ago in such a simple place.

The Wise River area of MT is just beautiful. So rich in early settler history. It still has it's rustic charm. We even saw our first herd of elk here.

We were planning on arriving tomorrow, but when we heard that the campsites were first come first serve we thought we would try early for a decent campsite. We lucked out too! Yellowstone is lovely and I'm so shocked at all the damage from those horrible fires years ago. Just a harsh reminder of mother nature.

Great spot! walking distance to norris geyser basin and the park ranger museum. Bathrooms are clean and theres a private dish washing room. A nearby river lets you swim, fish or just go for a quick wash up. The highlight is watching the Elk and Bison roam in the meadow. You could reach out and touch them - but don't!
