airasia uses the budget terminal and from there you can purchase bus tickets (9 RM) going to Sentral. from here you can just take a taxi going to your hotel. we paid 35 RM to go to Royale Bintang

most taxis told us how much the trip would cost and they charge more at night (12 RM). we managed to catch one metered taxi on our last day and it only cost us 3 RM! here's the number of that cab driver (he was nice too), just call him and he'll pick you up with no extra charge 016-3785538/016-6020128 (RZ Kristal Enterprise). best to go during daytime so you can see the views better

just plan the tour yourself, you'll be walking from the train stations just the same. skip chow kit (not much to see or buy).go to little india by train and shop for cheap football shirts. have lunch at abc restaurant (have mango lassi with your meal). walk to merdeka square and see the old colonial buildings and shop for souvenirs at central market. nothing much to see at the chocolate factory either

best to take taxi (around 15-30 minutes) from bukit bintang at around 6 or 7. the admission fee was RM 20 when we went. had pies and iced coffee at the cafe while watching the laser show at 8 pm (perfect!)

come earlier than 10 pm because the shops start to close at this time. start haggling from 30% of the price so you'll get good deals. we got souvenir shirts for RM 5. try the sizzling chicken satay at one of the restaurants by the street..yummy!

we got to petronas at 8 and the line was not so long. we should've been able to go up to the skybridge but our group told us to be back at the hotel by 9 only to find out the bus to singapore was scheduled to leave at 12!!!

the cheapest bus tickets cost around RM 70 and travel takes 5 to 6 hours. it would be much more convenient (and i think cheaper) if you book a flight from kl to singapore through airasia.com

we got good deals (best price! haha) for the electronics that we bought. try to buy as much from one store so you can haggle for a cheaper price. there are also lots of money changers here (the saleslady from where we shopped changed our money for us so she got us a better rate). go down to the food court and try the bak kut teh, tom yum, and iced coffee

there were numerous bars too choose from and we ended up at hooters. we chanced upon a filipina waitress and told us to stick around for happy hour which started at 11 so we got the 2 plus 1 deal. it was exactly what we needed because beer is so expensive here at RM 11 (well, it is for us)

we were able to see the 4d magix for S$18 and it was fun! didn't manage to do much because it rained hard all afternoon but there are lots of rides and activities to choose from. take mrt to harbourfront station and signs will direct you to the cable car tower ($11 one-way, $12 return) but you can also take the bus and train. DO NOT buy souvenirs from the gift shops. just buy them at the lucky plaza for 1/3 of the price

airasia and tigerairways (and other budget airlines) use the budget terminal which is separate from changi airport. don't forget to ask for gst receipt when you shop (S$100 above) so you can get the tax refund at the airport (%7). be careful not to put liquids in your carry-on (shampoo, cologne, drinks) because they will chuck it in the bin right after security check.

Malaysia's my fave country. Food there is so great and CHEAP!!! Been there twice and going back this August. Det, I also got on that tour the first time I was there. Now I know it's much cheaper to do it by myself. Thanks for the info. Try to visit Penang, I'm sure you'll love it!
