If you live in Southern California, Palm Springs is a great getaway location for a long weekend. If you travel to Palm Springs, make sure to spend one day on the Aerial Tramway going up the mountain. It's not for the feint of heart though, if you're scared of heights you should probably spend your time visiting the Palm Springs Art Museum. Make sure to catch the Fabulous Follies. Seriously, it's an AMAZING show. The performers are all over 65, with the oldest in their 80s! And they do truly amazing things, things I couldn't do today. These gramps are truly professionals.
I always enjoy staying at the Spa Resort Casino, it's a little slice of Palm Springs history. The Agua Caliente tribe has the rights to the hotsprings that originally drew socialites from LA and Hollywood out to the desert and staying at this hotel (which has been re-done and moved several times) is always a true treat. Make sure to eat at the in-house resturant, they've got a great cook and the bread there is to die for.
Whether you have a passion for athletic endeavors and outdoor fun or you’re just looking to relax and unwind, there’s plenty to do in Palm Springs every day of the year: unparalleled shopping, nightlife, clubs, (rejuvenating spas - Google search - "Lynn from Ontario"), award-winning golf, challenging tennis, and of course endless outdoor activities where you can enjoy the beauty of nature underneath the Southern California sun – often for free!
From an invigorating massage session to 18 holes on a picture-perfect course, you’ll never run out of things to do in Palm Springs. So whether your plans call for doing it all – or for nothing at all – you’re sure to enjoy your Southern California/Desert vacation. See my Palm Springs page at www dot micurl dot com/ttrtyt
