We spent the first 4 days in Tiburon and drove into San Fran to tour the city. By far, going to Alcatraz was the high point of San Fran, besides the weather. Ghiradelli square was a let down as was the Tea Gardens. The Golden Gate is amazing and I recommend going to the turnoffs and taking as many pictures as you can. Lombard St was a nice quick stop and I recommend taking some pictures from above, then driving down and taking pictures from below. Half Moon bay is home of Mavericks, where the waves typically break from 20-30 feet and during storms like the recent ones that just hit they can get up to 50-60 feet. We then drove down to Monterrey along 17 Mile Drive, which was my 2nd favorite part of the trip. The Monterrey Aquarium is by far the best aquarium I have ever been too and I could have stayed there all day if time permitted. If possible, go there and take a video camera and a camera that works well with no flash. Sausalito is a neat little town to spend a few hours in and the Fisherman's wharf is cheesy, but the Sea Lions basking in the sun on the docks makes great pictures.
