This was my first solo trip, and I will say. WOMEN BE CAREFUL IN ROME !!! I was stalked by two guys for about 45 mins til I ran toward the police. I have a guy pull out his "uh hm".. in broad daylight and show it to me. I had a guy demand that I go to dinner with him.. and proceeded to follow me. (He owns the gelato stand by Campa Di Flora) and last but not least... a bum tried to force me into an alley after groping me. That happened at night when I got lost coming back from the Trevi Fountain on Cosrco. Please be careful and use common sense. You will be gawked at because your a female, so keep your head low and walk. I recommend getting a Streetwise Map, It help me out a lot. Just Avoid the dark places at night..but visit the Piazza near Ponte Sisto every night around 7:00pm-9:30pm.. Great street vendors selling awesome stuff. I bought 5 hello kitty earrings for 20 bucks and 2 sunglasses for 10. Make sure you Haggle Haggle Haggle.. If something is 1 for 20 euro. Say you pay 8 Euro for one or Two for 15 Euro.. They will bring the prices down. Try to get a vacation rental to cut cost. You can make you own food and really live like a local. I stayed here
http://www.liveromelikearoman.com/index.… . The owner was very nice and worried about me constantly. She ever arrange for her driver to pick me up and drop me off at the airport.. in a brand new Benz..lol.. She however scolded me like a mother when I tipped him 30 bucks...lol.. Shes nice. ^__^
The apt is very nice and a 10-20 min walk from everything. Good Luck and Stay Safe.. I shall conquer more of you Italia.
