Lorraine goes to Canada

I forgot to say hello to the girls at work, I miss you all and will see you (hopefully - unless I have a cheque from SA Lotteries in my mail) on the 29th.

Hello everyone
Its lovely to hear from you all and know that life as we know it is still going on in Adelaide and Sydney.
We left Whistler Village this morning and headed to Vancouver Island. Roadworks are happening all the way from Whistler to Vancouver getting ready for the Winter Olympics in 2010. We then went on the Ferry across to Vancouver Island, found our lovely little cottage, Quagle Cottage, turned on the heater and relaxed for a little before heading out for the shops and provisions. Our little cottage doesn't have wireless internet so we are sitting in a dry cleaners shop with a few dilapitated computers in it for internet access. This will be our last message. We have three days here, then off to the airport for a try at the 2am flight on Monday morning. Nana and Leigh will try for Adelaide Tuesday night but I will stay for a couple of days with Al.
It was lovely to hear that Robyn and co had a great time in Noosa. Nana is going to phone Robyn, Damian, Mike and Cathy tonight. She has had a very hard time trying to get hold of Mike and Cathy.
If Kylie looks at this, we send our love to her, Nick and James and look forward to seeing you to give you your present (singular) when we return!
Al, I look forward to seeing you in a few days - I started to type something inappropriate for everyone else's eyes, so it will wait until next week!

THANKYOU for the lovely postcards... we just recieved them today and had a very happy surprise. Luke in particular loved the sexy men on his. Sara is very exstatic with her whales and i am very impressed that a man checked you out as you said.. you still have it, so long as he was a good looking man! Missing you so so so very much, counting down the days until you return, so much to tell you.

Hum Mum Julie and Leigh

Sounds like you are having a fantastic time in Canada - it just looks so beautiful and I can imagine you all having the best time. Can't wait to hear all about to hear about it in person - so sorry I missed your phone call yesterday mum - was at the doctor. All is going well so far with the bub, I am at 22 weeks now and Dr Webster days that all is "normal" - that's what we want to hear! I feel good. Our holiday to Noosa with Mike, Cathy, Sam and Lachlan was really lovely and so relaxing. Lots of beach, pool, naps, icecream and no cooking. Even had breakfast with Pat Rafter one morning, although he wanted to sit on a different table to us! The place we stayed in was great and Kate was a great girl and slept really well after being so tired out by Damian everyday - she did wake up at 6am though - mike and Cathy loved that! Looking forward to the next installment and more photos. Love the trip planner idea - fantastic. Speak to you soon hopefully. Love and many hugs to you all! Love Robyn xxx

Nana just read the last bit and would like to retract, even though true, the comment about me being the best child (even though she thinks it). While I write this Nan is going on about how the toilets are built for midgets and how she thinks you would all like to know that. She has been providing a bit of humour througout the trip with the things she has been saying and doing which has made the trip more enjoyable.

Well,its Sunday evening (your Monday morning) and we're sitting in our little log cabin in Jasper.
We visited Lake Louise on Friday and had a cuppa in the Fairmont (an overpriced hotel chain) took some photos of the lake and headed back to Banff. We left Nana in the hotel that night while Leigh and I took one last look around the main street of Banff where every second person is Australian!
On Saturday we took the long drive to Edmonton, found our hotel, took a cab to the Edmonton Mall which is the second biggest in the world (has hotels, waterparks, zoos, skate rinks and a casino where we yet again lost some money) and finally went back to the hotel for toast before taking the tube to the Andre Rieu concert. While the concert was fabulous, we have seen his DVDs and Foxtel shows and most of it was the same, so that was a little disappointing. It was also unusual to have people sitting with you eating nachos and popcorn at a concert!
Today we drove for hours to get to Jasper and repacked our bags. We have so much luggage and our little Mazda 6 is full to the brim with us as well. We skim along the road at about 130kph. We're off to tea now to a Greek restaurant and then home to have a game of Hold-em Opoly (a game Leigh bought today)!
To my gorgeous husband, wonderful daughter (second favourite child in Leigh's opinion), fantastic son in law Nick and cutest grandchild James, the other children and grandchildren of Nana (they come after the best child, me, in Nana's opinion, her words not mine) we send our love. To the girls at work, keep working hard, I miss you all.

hi there again!!! i won round 2 hands down!! thought i'd say helo again as it was short before. it looks stunning over there, nick loves the snow caps on the mountains, it' good to see you're having a wonderful time. we had dad down for tea last tues and will have to catch up before he goes back, just trying to o it around work hours is a bit tricky as if we don't get jd down before 8.30 i have no chance as he gets a second wind that lasts for hours, and once he's asleep i'm not far off it either. work is going great, it's nice to be back. we lost bowling last night but are used to it, hope they have a trophy for last place!! i lost a bag of 4 pairs of sunnies that i got from the market. must have left them in the hotel room. oh well, next time you go back mum i'll give you somemoney to grab some, and also some dvds, i'm wsure you wont mind if you end up at the markets. i had such a great time on my holiday, thanks for making it happen. sounds like nan is as lucky for leigh on the train ticket as i was for the insurance, he really is a great bloke!! well i had better go now as its 8.45pm on sat night and wayne and kin are up for a bbq, just thought i'd snd you a note. have a wonderful time, love you and miss you all more. your number one daughter, favortie grandchild and wonderful sister.

When youn finaly decide to return to our fair shores hopefully we can down load your trip album to add to you growing photo collection...mum was tickled pink to talk to you day...life is good for her at the moment she passes on her luv and best wishes..sadly will have to wait until trip planner is finished b4 can show her your exploits...Annettes big one on Sat night,will be good to catch up with them and lynda and kevin again....bought JD a swinging chimp today ,his name is Mongoose...another xssy pressy...at this stage I should be HK bound by end of next week ,quick line check(as if the 747/Jumbo has change since my abscence)and then operate to Narita followed Dubai...next roster should be out in couple of days,like waiting for the results of a lucky dip....A/Muareen says hi and hopes that all are ok...every 3-4 days I fill her in on your antics and frolics....Julie look at our common e-mail as Yasmine has sent you a note,at least I think it was her...apologies if the auther was someone else and also who happens to be following this trip.....Wx hear has turned quite chilly over the last few days and be still my beating heart it actually rained,not alot but every little helps....the trams start free rides on Sunday(Bloody usuless/highly expensive pieces of scrap((thought I better put the "S" in the word just incase "Media Mike"is following this trip!!!!hang on why would he follow it when tax payers money could fund the real McCoy))...you start paying for the ride as of Mon morning.Well another 10 minutes and my piessss 'n' chips will be ready,can of coke followed by medium bowl of icecream hmmmmm...mmmmm a well balanced meal I believe..
