You went through KC and skipped Westport? For shame. Next time go to McCoys for a better microbrewery, on Westport and Pennsylvania, one block west of Broadway. There's a good Irish bar there too.

Garden of the Gods is awesome, but a bit touristy. One hopes for a bit more nature and fewer rock climbers.

Sounds good! My boyfriend and I are planning our own road trip from Minnesota all the way down to Cali and are stopping off in Colorado Springs on the way. Can you tell me more about your time there? I was dinking around the internet and happened to stumple across the Garden of the Gods campsite. Was it really pretty? THanks for any additional insight!

* I guess this was the All-American Food Tour? :-) Very interesting and informative. I will copy this for my own cross country tour that will be this year (2008)or next. I am hoping to outfit my midsize SUV so that I can do some camping both in different types of campgrounds, as well as motels. Thanks for writing down all of this information. You are wonderful folks!
