Just got back on Sunday, right before Christmas. Had a great time on my vacation. Favorite thing was Discovery Cove. Swimming with dolphins and snorkling with rays and tropical fish was fantastic! Expensive but worth it. Gatorland, Busch Gardens, Seaworld and Universal Studios were all equally cool in different ways. Busch Gardens is like an amusement park and a zoo all in one. Great roller coasters if you like rides. And I love horses so the Budweiser Clydesdales were really cool to see. At Gatorland, we paid a little extra to do a behind the fences feeding thing where you throw chunks of meat to the gators and then you get to take a pic with approximately 20 of them right behind you! Of course the handler is right there to jump in and bump them with his stick if they start creeping up to close behind you...but its still a little scary...but fun. Least favorite thing was Kennedy Space Center. Some things were cool about it. Like the Space Shuttle ride simulation. But the bus tour was kind of boring. And the busses got backed up, and we had to wait a long time to get picked up from one of the stops. Overall, it was a wonderful vacation. My son had a blast! The week before Christmas turned out to be the perfect time to visit Florida. The weather was great and the parks werent very crowded.Never waited more than 30 minutes in any line. People we talked to who live and work in Orlando said that the three weeks right before Christmas in their slow season, but the week of Christmas it gets crazy again. So take that into consideration if you are planning a trip.
