Create a how to, must do, and desire to list. Start with the sights, divide into areas, decide approximate times needed for each, hopefully schedule realistic dates and times. Remember to include every food and drink venue per scheduled area. Define musts and separate from desires. Leave time for meandering which includes getting lost before finding the treasure.

Paris and Barcelona were a great combination. Barcelona was nice after the hectic pace we had set in Paris. The airfare was cheap but we lost a day between flying and we stayed in the airport hotle our last evening in Paris. We would have visit Paris one last time if I hadn't been sick. I am trying to find another great combo. Any ideas?
Thank you, Terry and Mike, for taking the time to write about your trip and include so many great tips and insights! I am going to Paris next month, and I am glad to have the information you both provided. You should write about more of your trips!
Rori-Chanel: It is time to go somewhere else other than Orlando...Paris & Barcelona don't even compare to Orlando.
I appreciated these comments so much that I think that my next trip will be to Paris & Barcelona. I usually go to Orlando Florida I just love it there, but I really want to try somewhere else. I better start preparing myself today.
I had a similar two week trip in Paris & Barcelona but we also ended up in Nice. We had the luxury of friends showing us around Paris and the Parisan metro area, which helped tremendously when it came to ordering food, getting around and seeing the best attractions. We didn't have that luxury in Spain but my limited Spanish got us around and fed in Barcelona and the Cataluna area. I personally preferred Barcelona over Paris. I liked the food, atmosphere/attitude, people, and cityscape more. Paris did had better public transportation. But both cities are great to visit. If you go be sure to have great socks, shoes, and gel pads for your shoes. It helps.
I am trying to find another great combo. Any ideas?
