From Paris I want to travel to Beaune area, then to Geneva, Switzerland, then to Lake near Milan, then west along the Riviera and finally to Barcelona. From there I hope to cruise back to USA.

Is the train the best way to travel on my trip?
If I book all the hotels in advance I should not have to worry about where to sleep but I need to get to each hotel by a certain time I suppose?
