I always ask to stay in the North Tower which is supposedly the more updated wing.
The location of the hotel is just fabulous, you can walk to every major casino on the strip.
go next door to Alladin's their buffet was great value with seafood and a mixture of spicy and American fare.
It is also across the street from the Bellagio and the lovely fountains there.

****Pelican Cove Inn. The room was nice, with a fireplace, vaulted ceilings, fridge, and microwave. The grounds are nice and the hot tub was great.
The wine in the evening was good. They also put out a dessert buffet later in the evening. The breakfast buffet was great. Pastries, fruit, cereals, yogurts, toast were in addition to make your own waffles, and hot eggs, bacon, and sausage.
Location was awesome! Across the street from the ocean. No traffic noise!
2 restaurants within walking distance - The SEA CHEST is to be AVOIDED AT ALL COSTS, and ONLY TAKES CASH and has a 1 to 2 hour wait for a table. The food sucked at Sea Chest, but at the bar and grill place, the food was AWESOME both times we ate there, and they have a Sunday brunch at 9am that is lovely!
They have some packages with wine tours to Paso Robles through the WINE WRANGLER. I highly recommend the Wine Wrangler for your tour, ask for Joe, he is awesome!
I found the Pelican Cove Inn's web site to be a bit confusing with all the room types and rates but a quick call got us just what we were looking for. As this property appears to have been created from the combination of two or three different accommodations it is likely that there may be some differences between rooms in different buildings and categories. I would recommend calling the property directly to secure accommodations.
Price about $219.

The location is perfect to explore the city. Fisherman's Wharf (Pier 39) is a very short walk, the Embarcadero, Ferry to Alcatraz, Cable Cars, and Giardelli Square are all within walking distance.
We turned in our rental car before we went into San Francisco and didn't miss it. We used Super Sightseeing to go to Alcatraz and the city tour. And, used the Grey Line Tours for Yosemite and the Muir Woods/Sausolito tours. Both companies picked you up and dropped you off at your hotel. Although, Super Sightseeing is only a block from the hotel and Grey Line is about 2 1/2 blocks from the hotel. We used the cable cars to get to China Town and Union Square.
not to rent a car for our short time at the Tuscan Inn and I must say he was spot on. We had so much fun riding cable cars, cycling across the Golden Gate Bridge and taking in an evening tour of Alcatraz that neither of us regretted not renting a car.
