Well, 6 months have gone and there is 5 months and 3 days to go....but who'scounting.....just me I think. We have done a lot in the past six months.
Here is a brief summary of the trip.
Flights have been booked from Melbourne to Dubai. We Plan to spend 3 Nights in Dubai. We will then move onto to Rome where we plan to stay 8 nights.
On the 9th day we will pick up a 9 seater van and head south of rome to Ravello. We have an appartment booked in 5km out of Ravello and will spend 7 nights there. Ravello is on the Amalfi coast betwen Salerno and Positano.
From there we will move on to Metaponto where we will spend three nights. One of the things we will do from there will be to see Alberabello. Hope to spend timedoing little!
From Metaponto, we will move further south past Messina to Taromina. We plan to spend 3 nights there. Mt Etna will be a tourist stop.
From here we move on to Agrigento where we will spend another 3 nights seeing the local sights.
After Agrigento, we will be spending 8 nights in Licodia Eubea. This is where our family comes from. An amazing opportunity to bask in the history of our family. a chance to put on some weight before we embark onto central Europe. We will leave Catania on the 21st April and fly to Frankfurt where we pick up the campervan ont he 22nd.
From here we will Tour in the campervan for 90 days. We plan to end up in Lucern, Switzerland where we will be spending Christmas and New year with the other half of out family.
From here we will head back to Dubai.....then off to Egypt to do a 11 day tour. Once this is done we will head back to the wonderful place we call home.
Will keep updates along the way....Stay tuned as we try and stay safe and have fun.
We have booked the motor home part of this Trip. As this is the major part of the trip, we have booked dates. We plan to Pick up the campervan from Frankfurt on the 22 Sep 2008 and will return it on the 22 of December. We will be traveling in a Premium Standard motorhome. I cant seem to make any airline plans at this stage as our return date is Jan 2009 and as a result are not able to book a flight until Feb 2008.....Airline rules!. It would be great to get onto a website that would cater for preplannig. I cant even look at stopover options as it is too early.....
