I have been in Balikpapan - East Kalimantan about 10 years ago for the first time. This will be my second visit. This time I am also thinking to go to Berau, then to Nabuco if there is some money left.

I've been to Balikpapan! I went there 2 weeks ago and back a week ago. My God!! What a wonderful holiday, and it hasnt got something to do with my lovely boyfriend by my side. :) This city is hot, but windy. There is no traffic jam. Sea everywhere, but trees and hills in the middle of this city. Unique huh? Food is expensive there, but Balikpapan people truly like eating out. Try the crabs! Dont hope you can shop because there are only 2 malls. But you can shop for cheap souvenirs, stones, necklaces or bracelets in Pasar Kebun Sayur! Great! Beautiful! You wont feel sorry visiting this city. Once you come and then go home, you will miss this city much and hope to come again.. *Sniff... Love you, Balikpapan...
