The Supreme nachos here were really good. The ballpark nacho was invented at the ballpark in Arlington (y'know the old aluminum one) so I decided that I had to try the nachos at every field we go to. The best ones I ever had were the BBQ nachos at the Memphis Redbirds game.

Campers beware, Although the old part of the park is beautiful, the camping area was created off the highway. Also, the sites given to people who make reservations are the worst ones in the park. Our campsite had a scenic view of the trash dumpster and the booth you check in at. It's number #62. Also, there is no one to check you in on Sundays or Mondays so if you do not like your site they assign you over the phone, there is no one to complain to. You are better off driving in and picking a site, than making reservations. We've gotten the distinct impression the state of Kentucky does not want out-of-state visitors making reservations. The state slogan does not match reality. That being said, the Audubon State Park was built by the CCC in 1937-41 and was stunning. We enjoyed the museum and gardens. They had 2 rooms, one for birdwatching with binoculars, interactive Q

The Otters play at Bosse Fields which was opened in 1915. Only 2 fields are olders: Fenway Park and Wrigley Field. A League of Their Own was filmed here.
We had amazing seats here. The Otter Belles wear uniforms like those worn in the movie. This was our favorite ballgame this trip.

We decided if we lived in Louisville, we would eat here a lot. The German potato pancakes were the best we had ever had. I had a rolled oyster. It was really good. My son enjoyed the fried shrimp. The herring toast was excellent and came as the appetizer to the holstein schnitzel. I really enjoyed the cucumber salad too.

A really nice ballpark, very picturesque. We have been amazed at the attendance at the ballgames on this trip. The Bats game has so many ticket holders that we could not get the great seats we were used to. Good for the bats - bad for us. We were on the third baseline and it was an awkward view. We did not eat during the game hoping to eat at Browning's after the game. It closes at 9:00 p.m. It had received a B rating online at Louisvillehotbytes.com but it was not to be.

We enjoyed this. It was well done and professional. They did a good job of making you interested in horses. The farrier did an amazing job. He spent a lot of time one on one with us and our kids. We took the horse drawn trollies, saw the parade of breeds, the hall of champions, and the draft horse exodus.
The camping here looked really nice. Next time we will camp here.

We were rained out! The fireworks continued but play was cancelled because of water in the bullpens. Obviously, we did not take advantage of rainchecks but they were offered. I did not get to try the nachos.
This is our 8th baseball vacation. We started touring minor and independent league teams and stadiums when our youngest child was 3. She is now 10. This year we saw our 75th game as a family.
Thought of you last night. We went to the Rough Riders double header in Frisco. The second game was delayed by rain so we got to see them put the tarp out. What a lot of work that was. The workers were all speckled with red mud when they got the whole thing put away again.
Have a great time.....and Happy Birthday.
