Given the circumstances for this trip... I haven't truly determined whether or not I'll be in a position to travel to all these places... but as the saying goes - set your sights high and the rest will take care of itself - at least that's how I think the saying goes.

So I'm set to start in Buenos Aires. I haven't been back to Argentina since 2000. The country was on the cusp of economic dismay and political chaos. Much has changed at a national and international level. Argentina has always been the biggest part of my heart, yet I have always managed to distance myself from the petty complexities that tend to overshadow the real beauty - the people and the attractions.

Since my original departure from Buenos Aires in 1976, I have taken 5 trips back - each ranging from 1 to 3 months. These trips have always been graced with the embrace and expectation of seeing grandmothers, uncles, aunts, cousins and other family members.

Things are going to be a bit different this time around. First and foremost, it's probably going to be the last time I see my grandmother. I'm at a new point in my life. I'm in that more mature phase of life where the word "appreciation" is truer than ever before.

This trip is about reflection of those things that made me into the person I am today - and appreciating the things I can be and will be tomorrow.
