Just an update on what I wrote previously: the streetcar on St. Charles Ave. is up and running about half of it's normal route, so it's definitely worth taking a look at Uptown.

Thanks, I used your information for my all star trip this weekend and it really came in handy. Due to the all star there was so much traffic in the Quarter. It was nice to step out and see the other sides of the city away from the large crowds. It was really wierd and sad being in locations that two years ago were under water. And it was even sadder seeing that they havent made much progress in rebuilding. We stayed at Holiday Inn FRENCH QUARTER-CHATEAU LEMOYNE which I give 5 stars. The staff was wonderful and it was close to everything. Overall a wonderful trip. A little advice ladies and Gents, please take comfortable walking shoes I promise your feet will thank you later, cause New Orleans is not the place to break in new shoes.

This is one of the best reviews I've read so far! I'm going to New Orleans in July and I'm so looking forward to it. I also agree this is one city we can't let go. I'm happy to take part in boosting the economy. Especially since people helped boost the economy of my city after 9/11. Good vibes are meant to be spread.

Please visit my trips page and give me some further advice. I'm going alone so any tips on getting around safely and other stuff is welcome.
