Faro is the capital of the Algarve with a medieval wall and a large number of monuments the town is worth a visit. Monte Gordo Lay just 3 km to the west of frontier town Vila Real de Santo António and close to Spain. Once a sleepy fishing village it has a long line of popular beach resorts in the Eastern Algarve. The town has developed considerably as a holiday destination in recent years, catering for Portuguese and foreign visitors alike. It’s fishing tradition lives on providing the best of the fresh catch to irresistible restaurants. It has bustling markets, buzzing night-life and a superb array of excellent golf courses and water sports.

Located in the western part of the province, in Costa de la Luz, Isla Cristina is a modern town with a long seafaring tradition, a great place to find salted meats and canned fish. There are many attractions, magnificent beaches and marine resorts, such as Islantilla, Centro, and Punta del Caimán. The carnival and the Atlantic Coral Festival are also famous.
