South Lake Tahoe/Yosemite side trip

A trip from August 10, 2007 to August 20, 2007, travelling to South Lake Tahoe, Yosemite National Park

Taking the bus across the country to Reno. Then renting a car and driving to South Lake Tahoe. Here we will spend 5 days in my family's cabin enjoying Lake Tahoe, Fallen Leaf, and Angora Lakes beaches and hikes. We will also visit Emerald Bay, DL Bliss State Park, Eagle Falls, and stateline. Then we will make a quick trip to Yosemite where we will see all the usual things. I know I will need to revisit the Park and hope to take a guided backpack trip next summer so I can really experience it!

My friend and I are taking the Greyhound to Tahoe. Round trip tickets start at just $162. It will be uncomfortable but worth it. My parents own a cabin so we will not have to pay for lodging but we will have to rent a car.

I have been vacationing here since I was a baby and I love it! There is so much to do all throughout the year. You can simply relax at the beach or be really active with sports, hiking, etc. It is absolutely gorgeous, a piece of Heaven!

I want to see the Balancing Rock because I haven't yet! Also, I hear Rubicon Point has one of the best views of the lake. I have spent a little time in this park and I may have actually come across this viewpoint but I'm not sure.
