I want to make the most of my drive from Phoenix to Sedona. I am unfamiliar with the state-- does anyone have any suggestions?

I just got back from mesa, we drove from there to the grand canyon. we stopped at montezumas well & the castle. They were amazing. The trip took about five hrs with stops. Phoenix is ten minutes from mesa. my advice is to allow plenty of time to stop. we didnt and missed so much. I'm going back this week. We're gonna try and see the slide
