California Dreamin'

I've never been here, but everyone says it is great. Also, the ferry ride to get there is fun (if it is sunny!). I've heard the night tour is really the better one to go on! Spooky!

You can walk across it and back in a couple of hours- best if its sunny weather. If you just want to look at it- a great view of it is from the California Legion of Honor- also listed here further down the list.

This isn't all that special, but everyone talks about it- so here it is. There are tons of places to eat- maybe not the best seafood in the city, though. There are fish markets and some kind of a submarine that you can tour. I think there is a tall ship there too. A short walk away is Pier 39, which is also quite famous. A million shops and restaurants- but not super duper unique.

I'd definitely do this if you get the chance. You can get a souvenir ticket to ride it at the station near San Francisco Center Mall- but if you aren't going to scrap book it, get on at a different stop and the line will be muuuuucccchhhh shorter. Also you might consider going early in the morning, on a week day, or at the end of the day. Try to position yourself on the very back of the car- 2 people can stand next to the brake man and that is a great unobstructed view.

Fun to drive, fun to walk, and a great photo op. There is a really nice view of it if you are walking through North Beach on your way to the Coit tower. Check the map and walk to the Coit tower via Lombard.

Pretty museum with lots of sculpture and great masters works paintings. The grounds are incredible too!

It's a tough walk up the hill- but an unbeatable view once you get there. Historic building with some famous murals painted on the walls too.

We've eaten here, as well as some of the other McCormick properties in the Northwest. Very nice view of the Golden Gate, good selection of seafood and steaks.

I've had great meals in the Bistro portion of the restaurant== nice view of the ocean and the former location of the famous Sutros Baths, built in the end of the 19th century. It's a particularly nice spot to go have a drinkie around sundown.

Solid, dependable Italian food right in the middle of town. Great service.

I know this is North and you are heading South, but its a beautiful wood that is unlike anything you have seen outside of California.

This is a beautiful winery with some delicious wines- plus the racing connection is kind of fun!

This is one of our favorite spots in Napa-- a must!

I've toured this, but Brian has not. It is definitely worth doing! There are several tours availablel, and I think you can get a AAA discount.
