SJU For Widgetheads

It's a long promenade that often has artisans along the walk. It wraps around the outside of the city wall up to the main door of the city. The views are great and it's a nice stroll. I enjoy taking the walk along it because I never know what new artisan or activity is set up but in my experience my husband thinks it's a little boring. It's romantic and lovely for a relaxing walk.

It's something nice to do if you happen to be in San Juan on a night they're doing it. The atmosphere and energy can be a lot of fun. You walk from gallery to gallery in San Juan and they usually have some music, refreshments and food. If you're lucky you can meet artists and discuss their work.

This place is amazing. I went just once about 9 years ago and it was great. The food is as good as it gets puertorican cuisine. What's also worth the trip is the ambiance. When I walked in it felt like I stepped out of the city and was transported to a restaurant in the countryside. If you go anywhere to have a special meal it should be here but be warned. It has become so popular with local politicians that reservations are your best bet for getting a table.

Plaza is a must! Be ready to walk a lot, it's 3 floors in some areas. In my experience the best place to park is in the Macys multi level parking area. Stores are great for shopping for great fashionable clothes that are not designer-priced. It's also a very cultural friendly mall. There are many shops with classy artisans that have wonderful things to offer. Make a point to check out the coffee kiosk on the second floor near the main water fountain. The coffee kicks Starbucks butt any day and will run you 50cents or so for a small.
