Talk about this trip (10)
this is a rough schedule, just basically the most logical order to go in...
overnight trains need to be booked in advance i think.

sooo, if we dont' have a hostel, and we arrive in a city at the crack of down off a sleper car, we can go wait in line until a hostel opens and hopefully they'll have 6 open beds i guess

looks like we'll ride the train 6 different days at least. more if we want to add cities and stuff, but prob no more than 10. it includes 6 countries. the trip from paris to london alone is $200, plus about $75 per each other train ride, i guess. so i think a rail pass will definately be worth it.

10 days in 2 months youth railpass costs about $465

sleepers are $10-50 more for a berth, or $2-10 more to sleep upright in a chair. the fancy trains (most of the long distance ones) cost extra ($10-$50), on top of the rail pass, and often require a reservation. Expect our travel costs to be about $465 for the pass, and at least $200 in supplementary fares! (4 supplementaries and 2 sleepers)

Will,
lovin the trip outline. Suggestions: an extra day in Interlaken cause I think Sweden is going to be amazing. Rome might be worth the trip cause its got so much history. Renting a car in Germany could be sweet (Autobahn). Finally, we need to spend much less time in France (one day, prob) then onto the british Isles. but all in all i am getting very excited!

yeah, i didn't really work on the dates, like how long we're stayin in each place yet, so i really have no idea what i even suggested... i'll make some adjustments

also, we might only make hostel reservations in the big/popular cities, which will allow us flexibility in the schedule. like if i have 4 days set aside for munich, we could get a hostel for 2 nights, and then stay wherever we want or in whatever city we want for the other 2.

basically, the more stops we have, the more we're going to feel like we're spending this whole trip on a train. i'd rather have a few stops and get to know each place instead of hopping around and traveling all the time.
