REVERSING FALLS, is a natural phenomenon which occurs when the highest tides in the world in the Bay of Fundy force the St. John River to reverse its flow. With 724 kilometres of water anxious to get to the sea, the St. John River meets the Bay of Fundy in a narrow rocky gorge. As the Fundy Tides rise, the mighty St. John discovers it has met its match. Twice a day at high tide, the bay wins, forcing the river to churn, tumble and flow upstream through a rocky gorge. A jet boat ride through the Reversing Falls offers a unique perspective of this phenomenon.
