Talk about this trip (1)
Thailand was amazing. Bangkok is fast pace ever changing city, every year that i have been there i see something new, with great hotels, shopping, food & culture there's so much to do. Things that i like to do & see while I'm in Bangkok, The Grand Palace is the traditional home of the Thai Royal family, it also houses one of the most sacred relics in Thailand the "Emerald Buddha", there is also some beautiful gardens & statues in The Grand Palace. Please remember there are dress codes for visiting The Grand Palace & Temples in Thailand. If your into technology then a visit to Pentip Plaza is a must see for you with 5 levels of computers & parts you'll have a great time there seeing the newest technology on display. It is located in Pratunam, close to the extensive Pratunam market. One of the biggest shopping centres i have ever seen would have to be World Trade Plaza it's a shopping centre with department stores, cinemas, boutiques, food courts and market stall & ice skating, it's very impressive. Another thing that impressed me was going to the cinema to watch a movie, just before the movie begins everybody stands up, music begins to play & there are imagers of the King on screen. To me it show what respect Thais have for there royal family, it's little things like this that has made me fall in love with Thailand. Anyway also try Jatujak weekend markets or the Patong markets for some great bargains, i have yet to go to the weekend markets in Bangkok so that something i have to do on my next visit. MBK Centre is also very popular, on one level all they sell is cell phones. I've never seen that before. When you come to Thailand, one of the first things you should do is to eat some genuine Thai food. The best place to do this is on the street vendors, i know what you might be thinking, food poisoning or having a bad case of diarrhea. That never really happened to me, i would rather eat food from a street vendor than go to a 5 star hotel or up market restaurant, i want to support the small family owned business. One of my favourite places i like to eat at while I'm in Bangkok is World Inn Restaurant, its along Sukhumvit Road, i love there Deep Fried Pork & Papaya salad. Also inside Pentip Plaza on level 2 there is a food court, it was where i had my very first Thai meal.
