Instead of standing in line hoping to get tickets, contact your congressperson ahead of your trip to get the special tour and a chance to sit in the gallery while congress meets. Twice, I've stood in line for tickets only to be told they were all gone. Plus, the tour thru your congressperson is better than the public tour.
