This is a 24 days long trip to California, Arizona and … More
This is a 24 days long trip to California, Arizona and Nevada. We are a family from the north of Sweden with three children, 8, 12, and 15 age old and we will make this trip the spring of 2007.
We are making this trip on Spring break.Driving straight through from Nacogdoches Texas to the Grand Canyon to Vegas,4 nights at Santa Maria at the folks house. Then Hearst Castle Farmers in SLO,and then down the coast to San Diego.Tuscan to see Caves and horse back riding, then straight to Texas.....wow.I am tired to think about it.Having 3 drivers will help some.....I will post after trip.
All I can say is WOW!!....I'm currently a teenager living in the Chicago suburbs, but I'm determined to live in CA. I love your whole trip and that is definetly something you'll remember a lifetime. I've been to CA 5 times, and absolutely love it there. One piece of advice though, is that maybe you should alot a little bit more time, it kinda seems like your trying to fit too many things in all at once. I've been to Monterey / Big Sur / Carmel twice, and you'll definetly want to take your time on the 17 mile drive. Make sure you see the Bixby Bridge in Big Sur also. And if you can, find some of the quaint rich towns in Carmel. I know you have a great time...have fun!!!
Im a SOuthern California native and I just wanted to give you a few tips to make your trip even better! I would recommend that you visit Venice Beach on a Sunday-its full of lots of characters and is at its best on Sundays. If you go on a Monday there will not be nearly as much to see and experience! Take the Balboa Ferry when you are down in Newport Beach near the fun-zone. Its very cheap and its fun to cross the channel. You will need at least a whole day to visit Disneyland/California Adventure. The Wild Animal PArk and Sea World in San Diego are both amazing! I would recommend that you visit Old Town on a Sunday-there are lots of performers around on Sundays and it is very fun! Good luck on your trip!
