I would like to travel to Ireland in the next year to meet family members for the first time! My Grandfather came to the US in his early 20's and never went back. My parents have had contacts and have visited there twice in the last 8 years. We have hosted a young family member twice for his "Holiday" and he has enjoyed being here. Lifestyles are very much different and he liked it here for the air conditioning as well! Lots to see and learn!

You were pretty darn close to a place I like to call 'Heaven'. AKA... the Glen Livet factory. Did you go? Did you? Why the ^(&* not? Thats like going to Hawaii and not seeing the ocean. Its ok. They still sell it here. One day I shall make the journey to the promiseland...

Your trip sounds amazing, i'm so sorry you had such bad luck with your pictures and camera. I would love to see Ireland, it sounds and looks beautiful.

Your trip sounds great! My family & I are leaving 8/25 for our trip there to scatter my mother's ashes and your perspective on the Cliffs really helped. How we are going to scatter them there w/2 kids will be an adventure, but what fun isn't. I am concerned about your feedback about Aer Lingus, as family has told us they are the better experience to/from the states.

You didn't go to Newgrange? It is just aways from Dublin,on the River Boyne about 5 miles upstream from Drogheda. It is a 5,000 year old passage grave. The most fascinating place I have seen with the exception of Egypt.

Yeah missing out on Newgrange was a bit of a whoopsie! seein as I only live an hour from it I know that its usually very popular. Amazed at the amount you got through though for the time you had. Fair play. Oh there are about 8 irish speaking regions in Ireland known as Gaeltachts along mostly the west coast. The locals are really friendly and usually happy to speak English.
