I have been going to Chincoteague for 4 years now and it is the best place to relax! Tom's Cove Park is the greatest campground to go to, in my opinion. I am getting ready to come again for 5 days and I love visiting Assateague and the beach (which is a short drive away)!

Went to chincoteague in 2005 for pony penning, loved every minute. I want to know what is the best way to see the ponies in there wild habitat? I am returning for a visit this year and hope to make this my vacation spot for the next 20 years. Everyone is so nice and polite, especially the locals. Just love the area. Stayed at Maddox Family Campground and loved it there. Especially its location to Asseateague island. See you all soon.

I guess I was shocked to see this also!! My mother was born in Tasley,VA and spent many summers in the area. I now live in Palm Springs, CA - love the desert but would maybe go back with my grandkids just to show them the eastern shore which is very diferent from most of what people think of when they hear "the South".
