A trip from May 14, 2006 to May 21, 2006, travelling to Cleveland, Medina
Meandering, leisurely, sight-seeing and shopping trip through … More
Meandering, leisurely, sight-seeing and shopping trip through Eastern Ohio and all points therein and hitherto. Cleveland and back again.
I started writing this just for myself, but realized I was putting way too much effort into it just to keep for no one to see. So, feel free to contact me if you have any comments/questions. Thanks and enjoy!
Wow! Great job Ohio Guy. Looks like a lot of cool places. I'd like to check out some of these myself sometime - I'm an southeast Ohio Gal and haven't been to any of these places. Thanks!
I love the Cleveland Pictures, they make the city look pretty and inviting. I actually visited Ohio for the first time in 16 years in the summer of 2005. I'm originally from the Copley/Fairlawn area of Akron. I remember the pretty countryside and ugly cities. Cleveland was actually nicer than expected. Hopefully Cleveland will make a turnaround. Have you been to Salt Fork in Cambrige, OH?
Growing up in Cleveland and having family in Steubenville I am very familiar with the routes you have listed. I would not make this an 8 day trip but maybe a weekend if I had to visit relatives and then I would stop and visit a few of your places of interest, most of which I have already been too. I certainly wouldn't want to waste 8 vacation days visiting the run down river cities on the Ohio River.
I am from the Chicago area, and fell in love with my guy from Bay Village, a western suburb of Cleveland. In our many weekends together I was able to see of lot of these places you highlight. Still, I loved going to the Cleveland area, the flats, with the golf (Metroparks!),the museums, the lake, even the westside market there really is a lot to see. Enjoyed your trip ideas, and yes, Cleveland has certainly changed its reputation and is a beautiful city.
I've never been to Ohio, but your trip has made me plan something in the future. My family and I always go south, but heading west to places Ohio will be different. Thanks for sharing your trip information. Your pictures made me feel like I was there. I drove all the way from CA to FL ending my trip to NY, which is where I am living now. Have you ever been to Savannah GA? If not, that's another place you should pay a visit. If you are into historical sites, Savannah GA is a plact to visit.
