Well we were lucky enough not to have air-fare... we decided to take a train. I was born in Elgin, Il. and have been to Chicago a ton when I was a kid but I really wanted to relive the experience as a adult. Over all our trip was probably 400-500 bucks... we did a LOT of stuff. One of the things that saved us time and money was the Chicago GO card. However, we had to pretty much race thru everything but we saw what we wanted. We took a train in and walked or took public transit. We also stayed at a cheaper hotel then what we origionally planned, however we plan to stay there whenever we return because it really did have everything we needed or wanted and didn't have to pay a high price. We do plan on doing the cruise on Lake Michigan and Lincoln Park Zoo when we go this summer it was a little cold in Feb. to include it in our last trip and we also plan on seeing a new broadway show Elliot. Im very excited thanks for all the feedback.

I grew up in Chicago and you've pretty much summed-it-up! Add a trip to the Water Tower Mall(next to the Hancock building), a visit to the Hancock's 100th floor cafe-bar, for a FANTASTIC view of Chicago, Navy Pier and a boat ride in Lake Michigan (with or without dinner) and you're all set!!!!! I'm SOOOOO jealous (and I live on a Greek island)!!!!! Have fun!!!
