I've lived on Kauaii for two years. 1009 - 1992. What a dream place this is. It was an unexpected detour in my life. We networked by hitchhiking and being immediately drawn into the wonderful folks who were literally roaming around the island. Go to the Hindu Temple and network. Find secret beach. Sit in a cafe in Kappa and wait all day. Invites will just flow right into your life. Find Diona and Jesse. The preacher in Anahola. People will just invite you over and into that life. It's amazing. The feeling of aloha spirit is allllllllllllll over that place. A true God's country and paradise. You can just get an old car, pitch a tent, buy food and live free.

I want to take my daughter and future grandchild on a trip to the island, Kauai...and have read that some beach front houses are for rent for a couple weeks. Any one ever done that, been there? Care to let me in on their experiences? My husband wants to do the city, condo things which also have their appeal.
