Americana Roadtrip

A trip from April 29, 2008 to May 05, 2008, travelling to Chicago, Huntington, Fairmount, Marion …
I was planning a trip to Washington D.C. the first week … More
I was planning a trip to Washington D.C. the first week in May so I decided to make it a road trip. On this trip, I traveled through Indiana, Ohio, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. Most in the United States' post-industrial heartland, almost all political swing states, and interesting small town America.

blackbudrfly, what do you mean by "places to stop?" Hotels/motels? Sight seeing? To eat? Be more specific for answers.

blackbudrfly: What is your route from California to D.C.?

Michael, you took some really great pictures. I know taking the metro was like a blessing for you, especially with the gas prices. I will be traveling (by car) from california to dc in two weeks, can you suggest any places to stop? If so, I am open to suggestions.

With gas prices fluctuating that's a bit tough to say but it cost me a bit over $1,000. Though add in two nights in D.C. that I didn't have to pay for and it would probably be a bit under $1,200.

Around how much would a trip like this cost, lets say for two people?
