Sorry, I am not familiar with the wine country tour pricing, so I can't give you any input on that. Beringer has quite a nice estate. I am assuming rubicon is the same as Francis Ford Copolla. If it is the same, then you can see a lot of Copolla's memorabilia from his movies like Dracula, etc. I am not quite familiar with the rest (Sterling and Shafer).
Celebrating father's day wknd w my parents and my wife.Last time I watched my limit and drove between vineyards. This trip my parents do not want us to drive and we want to chose the vineyards ourselves. The Wine Country tours quoted us all inclusive(taxes, tip) $469 for 5 hours. Is this the best we can do ??? Also my list includes sterling, beringer, rubicon, shafer(last time Jarvis, frog's leap,Mumm,cakebread,mondavi- again can we chose better ?????
It depends on what you are looking for. Shopping? Go to Vintage 1871 in Yountville or factory outlet in Napa or St. Helena. Outdoor/state park? Go to Old faithful geyser of California in Calistoga or Petrified forest also in Calistoga. There are many spa in the area. There is also wine train ride, hot air ballon ride, etc. Art? Since you are going in May, how about Villa Ca'toga? Check out the information in the schedule section of this travel blog.
Hi Krat, while waiting for answer from Dave, you could use this. There are 3 good wineries that I know of for good sparkling wine. Domaine Carneros, Domaine Chandon, and Mumm of Napa. The better one of the three, imho, is Domaine Carneros. But, if you are coming for the food too, then check out Domaine Chandon, since the place also hosts a top rated restaurant.
Hi Dave, which of the sparkling wine specialists would you recommend if I only have time to do one? I am staying in the town of Napa - doing a "tour" with a driver one day then going to play around on my own some too. Thanks!
