Trip begins and ends in San Antonio, Texas. It is a circle route through Los Angeles, Seattle and Chicago. The scheduling of the trains dictated the stays in the various cities but I guess if you had unlimited time, you could obviously stay longer. The "things to do" lists are not what I will be able to do, I just included them as points of interest to other browsing my trip.

I have ridden the Amtrak once; earlier this year. It was something I have always wanted to try. Hopefully your trip will be a lot more sanitary. However, I'm glad I had the trip experience. I use yahoo travel to make my plans, but I am going to try to remember not to schedule my hotels through them anymore. I keep forgetting about that cancellation policy. Thanks for bringing that up.

I Love Amtrak, I hope it eventually goes straight from San Antonio to Canada through Kansas Nebraska Dakotas and Winnepeg, it would be fun if it had a three way split track at Buffalo OK. that headed
West through Colorado and British Columbia Canada and
East towards Missouri to Toronto Canada .
