Wichita, KS is so cute. It's has a small town feel with some modern upgrades. There's an adorably funny mural on a building wall at broadway street. There are also many little cute houses as well as large beautiful homes to see. The Frank Lloyd Wright Allen Lambe House is a must see. Pictures don't do it any justice. It's really quite fantastic. The Campbell Castle is worth driving by. For anyone who has little ones the Exploration Place was absolutely great. Our three year old had a blast. We stayed at the Boadview Hotel because of it's history. The lobby has a beautiful ceiling with gorgeous chandeliers. There are many pictures of it's history throughout the hotel. Also, the dining and room service is very good. The rooms are fairly updated but the air conditioning is lacking. However, viewing the Arkansas River, the river walk, and several bridges with very sleek modern architecture from the room was worth it. We took the river walk from the hotel to the Exploration Place stopping to see a water monument along the way which was very nice. Delano Park is nothing but sand and gravel from what we could see but we had to cross it to get down to the river walk. On the other hand the Exploration Place does have a park the kids can play at for free. All said and done walking along the river was serene and surprisingly fairly clean. The whole town is pretty clean. By the way, be sure to see the Indian statue at the Arkansas River and Little Arkansas River break. It's between two very cool suspension bridges for pedestrians. Behind the Indian are some historical displays and you can walk around the Indian where you'll find a cool mist stone floor. In front of the Indian are four boulders with fire pits that are lit at 9 P.M. and 10 P.M. They stay lit for about thirty minutes. It's really neat to see. The best view is from the museum district side. All and all Wichita, KS is a really cute place that's a great visit.
