Loved reading about the trip.I'm planning on driving from Chicago, thru the northern rte. and returning via the southern rte, to Calif. and back. I've gotten some good ideas from you, but if anyone has anything else to add, I'd really appreciate it. I'm 71 years old, female....and so far I'm going solo, but it's a trip I've always wanted to do. I have family in various parts so I plan on visiting with them a day or so.
