We are planning a leisurely driving trip from Houston to New Mexico, with a couple of nights in Las Vegas. How do we go about creating an interesting itenary and route? We want to learn about hotels, restaurants, and points of interest prior to departing Houston, but don't want to button down an exact timetable. Our thought is that we may want to spend additional time in some locations and want to have that flexibility. How do we start?
