Be prepared-- Here's the bad news-- lots of panhandlers and homeless. Miserable traffic- the downside of urban density! Many homes and some businesses are not airconditioned. Sunshine is improbable until after the Rose Festival in June -- 4th of July you should be safe. Now for the good--- September and most of October are absolutely glorious. Drive out past Tualitin in the fall for giant hay mazes and u-pick pumpkin patches. Sauvie's Island --- wow --berries, corn and flowers-- and some times some live music. If you have kids, Washington Park Zoo and Playground and train ride are not to be missed... the sort of special day kids and parents will love.
Hello! I'm going to be heading up there at the end of oct for a concert and staying a few days. I'm hoping the weather holds up (at the very least, no rain!). The south lake looks very nice. Have a fun second trip and if you have any suggestions for me, I'd love to hear them :)
This was my very first visit to Stump town. I had a great friend/tour guide. He made certain that I was able to see the beauty that is Portland. With a visit to the local watering hole, McMenamins, much fun was had! A hike up to the triple falls was so romantic and breath taking! You really should plan a trip to PDX. The locals are friendly, the weather was superb, and the vistas are moving...
