Wow, what an amazing trip. I live in NJ also, and I am planning a trip to this part of Maine in October. My only reservation about this trip is that I will be traveling alone with my 8 year old. Can anyone advise ... are there any parts of the Acadia byway that are un-safe? Any tips on getting my eight year old through the long drive LOL? Thanks!
A few years ago we visited Maine. If you like trains make sure you stop at the Seashore Trolley Museum in Kennebunkport, ME. It takes about 1/2 day and is run by very knowledgeable guides. It is the oldest and largest electric railway museum in the world that started in 1939.
I was born in So.Hope Maine and was raised in Rockland .now I live Texas no contest. I really miss the beauty of Maine and the snow and the people and the all the fall colors just everything.I come back as often as i can. it's just so beautiful there.
I live in Portland,Me. Lots of people set out for old Orchard Beach, but, remember that Maine is so much more when it comes to natural beauty, scenic, and history. Take time to prepare for a great rewarding trip and then, good memories will follow !
We travel to Maine about every three years. We love Bar Harbor and Acadia I will look forward to visiting some of the resturants and the Brewery that you mentioned as well as the excursions. Thanks!
