Ok, So we flew in yesterday evening and took a cab straight from JFK to the hotel ($40.00). The hotel is pretty nice, your average little hotel...but good for the two of us. We wandered around for a bit look for somewhere to eat before we settled on Seattle Cafe...quite dirty so we got our pepperoni "pie" to go and on the way back picked up some drinks and snacks. The pizza was alright..and we went to bed early to help with jet lag.

Our true, full first day. Well, we look outside and its raining and has been all night. Turns out theres a lot of flooding going on...greaaaat. But we get ready and go down a block to the subway station, hop on a very crowded subway and get off at Grand Central Station. OMG what a site...people everywhere! We stupidly didnt have any sort of game plan and ended up aimlessy wandering around for a while and Tyler got very mad cuz we had nothing planned out and the fact i was wearing flipflops in the rain seemed to greatly bother him. So we finally found some little cafe andd sat down to look at the map/ figure out what to do. We couldnt ever agree on anything (i think the rain was really ruining our moods) and Tyler had us leave the cafe ( I didnt even get to eat!) and we wandered some more for like 1 minute before Tyler decided we were going back to the hotel..so we headed back..
And here we are, at the hotel...Tylers napping (arg!) and im..well, i dont know. Im about to wake him to suggest we go ahead and go the Guggenheim and MoMa..we'll see what happens. Good news is we have tickets to see Mary Poppins tonight which should be fun...Ill keep you posted, hopefully the rain will lighten up along with our grumpy moods.
NY Tip # 1: Make sure you have at least a general idea of what you want to do each day.
Alright, So it turned out good...Tyler got up and we headed back into manhattan to go to urban outfitters..we went to the smaller one and didnt find anything really..so we walked a couple hundred blocks just kind of taking everything in. When that got old we decided to head back to the hotel to get ready for Mary Poppins. Mary Poppins was spectactular (got a little lost on the subway getting there so we finished the trip in a cab) After Mary Poppins we wandered around Time Square. All i cansay is OMG! Time Square is crazy, amazing. Lights EVERYWHERE and people..its overwhelming in a good way. Even at 11 at night it was bright enough to pass as day and everything was still open. We stopped in Olive Garden (Tyler had never been!!!) Then headed home for the night....All in all, good day.
