everything was booked through the net. No groups or anything else. Book a flight to Rome, then train to Florence, through trenitalia. Book hotels near the centre and near the railway. Easy to go daily trips to Sienna and Pisa, and avoid taxi (expensive). Book your museum tickets if you are going on high season because of the crowd waiting.

Check again for recommendation on restaurants and sights

The cost for the season we went there (easter) was slightly higher than normal. We paid almost 1800 euros for hotels and all travel tickets, including the train and the busses. Average of 500 for food (mostly in restaurants) and 300 for the museums and the tours. And 100 for WATER!!! Then it is up to you.
