I am back to New York after the most beautiful tour so far in my life. Yellowstone is, in my opinion, the best place on earth. This time we even exceeded the trip plan! There is not enough words to express my feelings or describe the place, but to me it is heaven. Watch out for the trip update and the journal entries here.
We are planning to go to Yellowstone Park in end of May/beginning of June. But I cannot decide whether we should join local bus tours that including lodging or drive on our own. We will be driving from SF Bay Area and I will be the only driver. Can anyone tell me about the driving experience to Yellowstone? Are the mountain roads hard and narrow? So worry... Thank you!
me and my family are planning a road trip to Mt Rushmore and then to yellowstone national park and this is my first time doing this and have very little money and small car and was woundering on some pointers on how to go about this and if anyone could give some good advice it would be really apperciatd thank you from Gothenburg, Ne
Just booked in Yellowstone for the 20th-21st and 22nd of July. We have to move each night to a different area of the park but we don't mind. We were in Yosimite 2 years ago and stayed at the Yosimite Falls Lodge there and I have to say there is nothing like waking up in a place like that. Your able to get up early and hear the place come alive, hear and see things others won't before it gets too crowded We'll be staying in the cabins with private baths but they are actually cheaper than some of the motels in Cody and surrounding areas $80.00 to $142.00 a night. Looked online and everything looked booked so I called them directly and they were able to help me find the rooms. Also made reservations for the chuck wagon meal up at Roosevelt Lodge and was told all reservations have to come through them. According to the web site they only take 210 people per night and it is approx. $175.00 per couple for meal, covered wagon ride and show and I think they told me to plan for about 3 hours total time. I would not wait any longer than I had too, to try to book as the agent told me the recession really had not affected them yet. Looking forward to going and I hope everyone going has a safe and happy trip.
I'm planning a trip with 3 other friends in Yellowstone Park. As we are all in our 50s, we are not into too much activities but would like to catch all the beauty within 4-5 days. Have not done any hotel bookings yet ao far. Any recommendations for worthwhile sites to visit & affordable yet comfortable hotels that are near to the sites? Thks.
I'd like to take a trip to Yellowstone in the near future. Are there any campsites?I'd appreciate the ideas and suggestions. The fall would be a good time for us to travel. Thanks
I'm planning on going to the Tetons & Yellowstone (and Grand & Bryce Canyons) for a few weeks in August. I plan on camping for the majority of the time and have noticed that most campsites are first come first serve. I'd be driving out from Southern CA & was wondering if anyone had any recommendations or tips. I'm just afraid i'm going to go out there and its going to be packed and i'll be out of a place to sleep
Hi Darwin, We visited Yellowstone in the first week of July. The weather was hot and windy. But you should always check the weather related websites, because weather changes very rapidly in Yellowstone. RVing is allowed inside the park. There are several RV parking lots in the park, but you need to book them in advance, because everything vanishes very quick out there due to heavy visitor population!
We have plan with my 2 kids 9yrs old and 1.5 mos. old going to yellow stone in july can one help me about the weather second we do rving, hows the way going ther is that ok. to bring my fifth whell rv inside the park. thanks
This sounds like a dream come true. I have lived in Oregon and you all might want to add the Southern part of Oregon to your tour. There are wonderful places to see there. check out the rogue river and all the Great sites there. Yellostone is a wonderful place and has Great wildlife. I'm glad to see that Americans are back to seeing what a wonderful country the good Lord has given us. Keep on Touring.
