Plans for President's Day weekend
Hiya! We decided to go to Philly this weekend to see the King Tut exhibt at the Franklin Musuem. Timed tickets were pretty much sold out for this weekend, so I decided to look around at hotel deals that offer VIP passes to the Tut exhibit (untimed tickets, go when you want). We decided on the Hilton Inn at Penn because they had the best package deal, and availablity for President's Day Weekend:
- Deluxe accommodations for one night
- Full American Breakfast buffet for two in the University Club
-Two VIP tickets to the exhibit at the Franklin Institute (no timed ticket necessary)
- Two tickets to the Ancient Egypt’s Place in the Sun exhibit at the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology
- Welcome edible King Tut amenity upon arrival.
The also offer a package that does not include the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaology and Anthropology, but in this case, the two packages were the same price ($259.00 plus tax, for a total of $295.26). In contrast, regular weekend tickets to the museum and Tut exhibit are $32.50 pp, the UPenn museum has a suggested donation of $8 pp, and the breakfast is $15 pp. That's $111 for those included extras.
We'll be driving from Washington DC on Saturday morning and returning Sunday evening. We also plan to have cheesesteak for lunch before heading over the museum on Saturday.
gotta run will call later.
