Hi everyone,
I returned from my amazing holiday last week. I had a great time in America and an incredible time sailing around Barbados, St Lucia and Grenada for the Cricket World Cup. It was an awesome experience to thrash the SAFFAS in the Semi and even better to win the final for the third consecutive time.
I left on Friday the 13th. Bad luck struck on the flight as the bloke sitting behind me had a severe asthma attack, why he didn't have any medication I don't know. They called for a doctor, but that didn't help. As I watched the small TV a noticed the plane was facing back to Tokyo, the pilot then announced that we were heading back to allow the passenger to go to hospital. Unfortunately I missed the connecting flight from San Fran to Vegas and arrived 6 hours late but happy to finally get there.
LAS VEGAS APRIL 13 - 17
I spent 4 great days in Vegas at a wonderful Hotel called Fitzgerald's in the amazing Freemont St. This place has an amazing video light show presented on the huge dome ceiling, bands playing and people everywhere.
Met up with Jimmy from the Geckos golf trip I go on each year and his mates at the New York New York hotel, a big night and a few beers had there at an incredible hotel casino. Eventually I came out on top at the tables and poker machines with $250 us.

NEW YORK APRIL 17 - 19
I then just made it to New York amid a huge storm that flooded the outskirts of New York. The storm was the only thing reported on TV, until the massive shooting in Virginia Tech, then that was the only item reported. It seemed the storm just disappeared.
But then my suitcase was sent to Manchester, I thought they meant Manchester England, but it went to Manchester somewhere in America, thank god. So for 2 days I had only 2 sets of clothes.
Went on an excellent Movie and TV show location tour of New York, including the Friends apartment. Saw the Yankees play at Yankee Stadium, great experience, but very cold.
On wednesday morning I went to a movie and sitcom tour in new york.

NEW ORLEANS APRIL 19 - 21

Then off to New Orleans where I visited the exciting Bourbon St. Great Mardi Gras atmosphere and action aplenty with numerous girls showing off there top halves from balconies.
I went to the Zurich PGA golf Tournament and followed David Toms around 18 holes, awesome to see how far they hit the ball. The food in New Orleans is great including: Crawfish, Gumbo and Jambalaya, restaurants are not so expensive and relaxed.
Other than Bourbon St, The French Quarter and restaurant areas the town is dead since the Hurricane, with some outer areas I saw on my way to and from the golf completely devastated and not repaired, very sad to see so many empty and flattened areas.

They had an Aussie theme with an Outback Steakhouse.
MIAMI APRIL 21-22
Next was overnight in Miami where I had a very disturbing experience. I stayed in Miami South Beach and arrived at 8pm and was leaving the next morning at 8am to meet up with the fanatics in Barbados.
The airport staff had taken my Colgate toothpaste, so I decided to find a shop at 6.30 am before the Taxi was arriving. It was still dark, so I wondered around, but couldn't find a shop, so turned back. I noticed some guy following me; he also made a call on his mobile.
Luckily the Hotel had a security door at the entrance of the building. A little worried I quickly swiped my card and shut the door behind me. He appeared on the other side, saying: "Let me in, Hombre!" I'm like: "No f+><ing way mate!" he looked like a Spanish bloke with baseball cap on backwards.
I got to my room and rang reception. I was thinking, how I was going to make it to the cab, with him there. Luckily the police station was actually next-door. So as I was leaving, I saw 2 cops frisking him and dragging him off. Who knows what he wanted, my bet is he would have tried to mug me or something.

WORLD CUP CRICKET TOUR APRIL 22 - 29
Finally I arrived in Barbados and met with the Fanatics at Harbor lights, a pub on the beautiful beach. I cruised around for 8 days on the 5 star Royal Clipper Sailing ship. The food was magnificent, with Buffet breakfast, great lunches and 3 course dinners. But the best thing was the open bar, yes free drinks from 10am till 2am, big saving on money and well used bar by 250 Aussies, 6 SAFAS and 6 Sri lankans.
