I am not a big fan of artificial ways of entertainment like Theme parks and other joy ride parks like six flag.  I instead like lakes, mountains and jungles…I expect one of three thing out of my trip. I should see a nice new City  or do something what I never did before or just wonder around in nature. And this trip was a perfect combination of all three.

Thank you for posting your trip... We (some friends and I) are headed to Gatlinburg in February (2008). We too are staying in a Cabin there... and seeing your photos kind of eased my nerves because I was starting to think negatively towards the trip and the "whole weather issue"... But, since I'm here... how was the weather in Gatlinburg? ...LOL... I'm trying to shake these thoughts but... enlighten me please because we are driving also ... LOL... but anyway thanks again for posting your trip and I look forward to your response...

i love going to Tn. me and my hubby go atleast once a year. i totally reccomend staying in a cabin if you are with friends or family. Me and my hubby rented a aunt bug's cabin and it was nice, but we were never there except @ night so if you are out alot i don't reccomend on getting one. my opinion is go to a nice hotel if it is just the two of you. it can still be romantic. i would print out some coupons while you are at it b/c it saves you alot of money. look at the specials if you do rent a cabin you can get some really good deals.

My family camped out in the Smokies in the mid-60's, when I was in Junior High School, and I loved it. Although my wife and I are not out-doors types, I would like to take here there for our 35th anniversary next June, since she's never been and is probably tired of hearing me talk about how great it is :-). Any advice y'all can give a mid-50's couple who prefer cabins/hotels to campgrounds, but love mountain/river scenery would be greatly appreciated.

I was on a business trip and my staff decided to visit the Smokey Mountains.I enjoyed my visit. If you are planning to go there, don't forget to stop by the road when you see the stream and feel the cold water that wll relax your tired feet. Visit the pancake house. There are hundreds of them. I love shopping, and Gatlinburg has a lot to offer. Enjoy the dogwood blossoms on your way to Smokey Mountains.

I spent the weekend in May 2008. We rented a cabin outside of Gatlinburg. It was great. Everything you could want. Pool room, hot tub on deck, nice and a nice tub for two. The view was breath taking. So yes go and have some fun. The cabin had everything to cook also a outside gas grill. Why to much fun. The price was just 120. a night. Cheaper than a hotel with more me time for two. I will be back to do it again I hope real soon. Worktobuy from WAynesville NC

My first trip to the Smoky Mountains was in July 2007. We rented a beautiful cabin in Pigeon Forge. We're going back for the Thanksgiving holidays this year and I'm really excited. I just discovered that Pigeon Forge is the 1st and only place in the U.S. to Zorb, so I'm really looking forward to this trip. Anyone know what we should expect weather wise, we'll be driving to Tennessee that last week in November.

My husband and I got married there in 2002, in the "Luv SHACK" up on Ski Mountain...It was amazing... we made a return trip in 2004, the chalet was just as nice but they built another chalet right next to it so privacy wasnt the same. ;( overall though It was a nice drive and get away for us. We made a pit stop there for an over night rest comming from Florida in 06, My husband is really drawn there so I think we'll be making another visit real soon!! Best time for fall leaves is in September mid to late month ...

My husband and I rented a cabin from Little Valley Mountain Resort called Lazy Bear in March of 2007 for our "second" honeymoon. The cabin was beautiful and offered plenty of privacy. It was peaceful and relaxing, not to mention it was only 5 minutes or so outside Pigeon Forge. That whole Smoky Mountain area is gorgeous and there are so many things to do from exploring waterfalls and nature to all the entertainment options in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. We really enjoyed geocaching in that area. We are looking forward to a repeat visit to the area with our family.
